My girls love to ask me what's for dinner. Sometimes, just out of curiosity, or as a hint that they are ready to eat. For my little Sunshine, this is an opportunity to figure out if it's something she wants to eat and to then begin her campaign to get something more suited to her current picky palate. She usually loses that campaign, but this doesn't stop her from trying. Because I know this is usually her plan, I try to remain vague on what's for dinner.
On one particular evening, Sunshine asked me what was for dinner and I responded "chicken."
She continued to push by asking "Chicken and what?"
"Chicken and little girls." I said in a feigned spooky voice.
At that point, Love-bug chimed in. " I know what ingredients you need for that. Sugar and spice, and everything nice. And, chemical X!"
I had a pretty good chuckle over that. And, for the umpteenth time wondered if maybe my girls are a little too obsessed with the retro cartoon The Power Puff Girls..... : )
