Here's a cute story of something that happened about a year ago, featuring Love-bug. I originally published this on a blog I shared with my cousins. We are now venturing into other things, but I wanted this story to remain documented here....
My husband and I try to go on dates when we can, without the kids of course. Naturally, they love this idea (read with a sarcastic tone). My 5 year old is usually the most vocal. She just can’t seem to understand why we need to go out without them. On a recent date night, after realizing with devastation that we were again going out, she began her barrage of questions regarding why we had to go, and why she couldn't. I explained, as I’ve done so many times before, that we need to go out by ourselves or with other grownups sometimes. Then she asked where we were going. I told her we were going out to dinner. Her logical response was “But whhyyyy? We have macaroni and cheese.”
Needless to say, it was a little difficult to explain why we still needed to go out when the best food in the world (according to my girls) was already in the house.
